Step-by-step diagnosis with a multimeter
Before removing the module, you can get an indication of the 8945125484 chip's condition with a multimeter.
- Remove the chip from the WABCO EBS modulator PCB
- Set the multimeter to resistance mode (Ω)
- Measure between pin Input y GND of the chip
- Reference value (to confirm on the bench): approximately 8.2 kΩ
- A very different reading (∞ or < 1 kΩ) indicates a damaged chip

- Connect WABCO Toolbox or TEBS-E Diagnostic Tool to the vehicle
- Read the active codes and confirm Blink Code 15 on the axle modulator
- Remove the WABCO EBS module from the affected axle
- Open the modulator housing carefully (do not force the clips)
- Locate the 8945125484 chip on the PCB (SOP16 package)
- Remove the damaged chip with a hot-air soldering station (350°C)
- Clean the pads with flux and desoldering braid
- Install the original NOS 8945125484 chip with silver solder paste
- Verify the reference resistance signature (approx. 8.2 kΩ, to confirm on the bench) on the installed chip
- Reassemble the module, install on the axle and clear the fault codes
- Perform a road test of the ABS/EBS system to confirm the repair
